- UK Battlefields Resource Centre Provide information on fields of conflict throughout the United Kingdom. The information provided helps people to explore our battlefields through books, maps and original documents or on the ground; from the earliest of our accurately located battlefields, at Maldon (Essex, 991), right through to Sedgemoor (Somerset, 1685), which was the last battle to be fought on English soil. Currently the Resource Centre only includes English battlefields, however initial work began in late 2004 on a gazetteer of fields of conflict in Scotland
